What kind of equipment, can i buy in order to record a Rap Demo?

I like to write songs, i enjoy RAP, for example, I like listening to rappers like Immortal Technique, Diabolic, ILL Bill, Jean Grae, Crypt Warchild, Jedi Mind Tricks, Esoteric this is to mention a few, and i would like to write songs just like they do, so i been practicing, i do not have a studio, nor there is one around where i live, i want to record a demo and i'll do it in my house if i can, but what kind of equipment would i need to start?? a mic and please, what else??
