Does anyone have an effective way to stop a panic attack?
First and foremost is to start keeping track of the sensations of panic. If you notice that you tend to sweat, have difficulty breathing, a pounding chest, dizziness, headaches, a fear of losing control or even imminent death that either precedes the attack as a trigger or occurs as part of the panic attack note this down in a journal. Keeping detailed records of panic attacks will help manage the symptoms before it becomes a full-force attack. This is the key to controlling panic. Fear is a major component of panic. If you have any physical pains or sensations that may be mimicking a health condition then see a health care professional to rule out any illness. This will also help in controlling panic as you will know there is no worry of an illness or imminent death when experiencing panic.
